TOO LONG, DIDN'T READ

Game flow is divided into three parts
Forum posting is for players to write their own stories and flesh out their character's worlds
Face-to-face writing is for players to interact specifically with NPCs and each other in real time
The other kind is group roleplay adjudicated by dice for players to work together and accomplish goals

Characters begin with 1d4 in all basic skills and 12 XP
Starting XP may be spent on improving basic skills or buying new specialities or scholar skills
There is no such thing as HP
Characters will not die unless the player desires it to happen but other consequences are guaranteed

Skills are used in skill tests to accomplish things
Basic skills are more general and cost more to advance
Specialized skills are more specific and cost less to advance
Scholar skills are for the things that you think your character can do that isn't listed here

Skills are used by rolling one of the following
    The basic skill alone
The specialized skill and its parent basic skill
The scholar skill alone if it is an uncommon study
The scholar skill, the specialized skill, and the basic skill if it is a narrow specialization

Skill tests work as follows
SIMPLE SUCCESS: Roll skill against GM-determined target number
    Less than target = failure
Equal or greater than target = success
4+ greater than target = critical success
Roll all 1s = critical failure
OPPOSED ROLL: Roll skill against opponent's skill
    Less than opponent = failure
Equal or greater than opponent = success
4+ greater than opponent = critical success
4+ less than opponent = critical failure

Experience is obtained through good roleplay or by achieving objectives
Experience is spent to increase number of sides on skill dice
Basic skills cost 1 XP per side
Specialized and scholar skills cost 2 XP per 3 sides
Increasing number of dice costs 3 XP + half number of sides
